Role description: Arcadis is seeking an experienced Civil / Environmental Design Engineer (Senior Environmental Engineer) to join our Site Evaluation & Restoration team. This is a remote flexible opportunity. The candidate selected for this role can be based out of any Arcadis office in the East. As a Civil / Environmental Design Engineer (Senior Environmental Engineer) you will support a growing base of complex remediation projects, as well as serve as a mentor to entry-level staff. Work activities will include a mixture of engineering design, permitting, proposal and report writing, and construction-phase field engineering. Engineering activities will include civil engineering site design, earthwork evaluation, and stormwater management permitting and design. Role accountabilities: Review regulations and standards necessary to conduct technical studies and carry out project design and permitting activities Analyze reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, tests, and aerial photographs on soil composition, terrain, hydrologic and hydraulic characteristics, and other topographical and geologic data necessary to support design objectives Use computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design analysis and documents Develop design calculations, technical reports, permitting, detailed design and engineering plans and specifications, and other contract documents Inspect construction site to monitor progress and assess conformance to engineering plans, specifications, and construction standards Address Request for Information (RFI) from contractors related to design and construction work Recruit, mentor, and supervise entry-level staff Qualifications & Experience: Required Qualifications: Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline Minimum 6 years of experience Preferred Qualifications: Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification or Professional Engineer (P.E.)
