Role description: Arcadis is seeking an Archaeologist to support environmental planning projects across the U.S. In this role, you will conduct archaeological field work for multiple projects and at all levels of investigation, from site identification to data recovery, and archaeological monitoring. Role accountabilities: As an Archaeologist, you will apply your technical knowledge to support archaeological services over a range of sectors, including linear utilities, oil and gas, mining, rail and transit, and renewable energies. You will be a key cultural resources team member and work as part of an interdisciplinary environmental team. You will be responsible for conducting archaeological fieldwork, including archaeological monitoring, and preparing technical documents. You will lead cultural resources surveys and be responsible for managing archaeological field staff and field crews, as appropriate. This will require a working knowledge of GPS systems and the ability to walk and conduct fieldwork for long hours, as well as carry supplies weighing up to 40 pounds. This will also require working in the field under a range of conditions (e.g., rugged and unfamiliar terrain, remote locations, hot and cold temperatures). Additionally, you will use your excellent technical writing and communications skills to author technical documents and provide survey details and results to project teams. Qualifications & Experience: Required qualifications for the role include: Bachelor's Degree in anthropology/archaeology 1-2 years of experience in cultural resources management Field school or excavation experience Demonstrated practical field experience in the U.S. Working knowledge of GPS systems and the collection of field data Basic knowledge of cultural resources management and Section 106 Fieldwork experience in New Mexico or areas with similar cultural resources.
