AutoCAD and/or Revit knowledge with the ability to communicate design strategies to a drafting department in order to create construction documents will be needed. You must also have a broad understanding of HVAC systems, hot water heating systems, airside systems and their applications. HVAC load calculation software experience (such as Carrier HAP, and Trane Trace) will be important as well. In addition to the qualifications mentioned above, you will also need: Experience with value engineering process. Functional experience with MS Office applications. Functional experience with Bluebeam. Familiarity with state and local codes. Familiarity with code review process and response to Code official comment. 15+ years' specialized experience with HVAC design & construction specifically for municipal and/or industrial water/wastewater facilities. Plumbing & fire protection design knowledge. ASHRAE association or similar preferred. 3D CAD software experience.
